Our methodology is built on four core pillars:
Connectivity & Data Latency
We test how each platform handles Level II and MBO data.
We evaluate compatibility with major data feeds (Rithmic, CQG, IQFeed) and measure how the software performs during periods of extreme market volatility.
Feature Granularity
Not all Footprints are created equal. We dive deep into the customization levels of volume profiles, imbalance settings, and order flow cumulative deltas. We reward platforms that offer "raw" data transparency over those that use proprietary, smoothed algorithms.
Execution Ecosystem
A platform is only as good as its ability to get you in and out of a trade. We analyze the DOM interface, one-click trading capabilities, and the stability of the API bridge between the software and the broker.
User-Centric Stress Tests
Our reviewers spend a minimum of 50 hours of live screen time on each platform before assigning a score. We look at the learning curve, documentation quality, and the responsiveness of the technical support team.
